Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine attended this morning the Holy Liturgy, which was officiated by His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej and the Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, in the Cathedral Church in Belgrade. HE Mr Tomislav Nikolic, President of Serbia, HE Mr Ivica Dacic, First Deputy Prie Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, HE Mr Nikola Selakovic, Minister of Justice,His Excellency Monsignor Stanislav Hocevar, Roman Catholic Metropolitan and Archbishop of Belgrade, His Excellency Archbishop Orlando Antonini, Apostolic Nuncio, HE Mr Vladimir Chushev, ambassador of the Republic of Belarus, representatives of the Islamic community, and big number of citizens attended the Holy Liturgy.

In his Christmas congratulations Crown Prince Alexander said: “To all who look for the star of Bethlehem and find it in the eye of a child, to all who have the good will and who open their hearts to the voice of love and mercy, to all who live and work celebrating the work of the Creator, to all Orthodox Christians, all Serbs and all the people of God, we send our warmest congratulations on the occasion of Christmas. Peace on Earth – Christ is born!”

Upon completion of the sacred liturgy the Royal Couple attended the ceremonial reception on the occasion of Christmas in the Serbian Patriarchate, hosted by His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej.

During the day Crown Princess Katherine visited children’s hospitals in Belgrade with Mrs. Kathy Fanslow, President of the Board of Lifeline Chicago with whose grace and generosity toys for children were gathered and her daughter Miss Tracy Armstrong,where they presented Christmas gifts and toys to children who spend Christmas in hospitals. Visiting children’s hospitals on Christmas Day is a tradition that the Crown Princess has cherished for the past fourteen years.

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander, Crown Princess Katherine, Hereditary Prince Peter, Prince Philip and Prince Alexander once again congratulate Christmas to all citizens of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska with the traditional greeting: “Peace on Earth – Christ is born!”.
