His Royal Highness Hereditary Prince Philip was born in Fairfax, Virginia on 15 January 1982. He is the fraternal twin of Prince Alexander and the first in the line to the Throne. He is the son of HRH Crown Prince Alexander and HRH Princess Maria da Gloria of Orleans Bragança. Prince Philip is the grandson of HM King Peter II and HM Queen Alexandra. His Godparents are HM King Constantine of the Hellenes, HM the Queen of Spain and HRH the Duchess of Calabria.
His Royal Highness Hereditary Prince Philip and HRH Princess Danica were married at Saborna Church in Belgrade. The wedding was officiated by His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej of Serbia. The Godmother was HRH Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Godfather was His Royal Highness Prince Peter.
Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine and everyone were especially delighted that Her Majesty Queen Sophia of Spain and Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden came especially for the wedding. The mother of the groom Her Royal Highness Princess Maria da Gloria of Orleans and Bragança, Duchess of Segorbe and her husband His Grace the Duke of Segorbe came from Spain.
Their Royal Highnesses Hereditary Prince Philip and Princess Danica have two children, HRH Prince Stefan (born on 25 February 2018) and HRH Princess Maria (born on 5 November 2023).
Hereditary Prince Philip lived in Virginia until 1984. Together with his twin brother Prince Alexander, attended kindergarten in Seville, Spain. In 1985 at the age of three Prince Philip and his twin brother Prince Alexander joined their father Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine in London where they went to kindergarten. At the age of six they went to one of London’s top preparatory day schools. Then at the age of thirteen Prince Philip and Prince Alexander attended one of the top boarding schools The King’s School Canterbury in England.
In 2000, Prince Philip graduated from The King’s School Canterbury in England having obtained three “A” levels and ten GCSE’s. Hereditary Prince Philip graduated from University College London (UCL) with a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Humanities and following that he worked for Landsbanki in the City of London. Prince Philip finished École hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) Switzerland and worked in the Ritz Hotel in London. Prince Philip worked for IKOS, a global systematic hedge fund, in Cyprus. He is now working with a renowned global asset manager in London. Prince Philip speaks Serbian, English, Spanish and French.
Hereditary Prince Philip enjoys surfing, snowboarding, football, and exercising. He completed the 2010 Athens Marathon, the 2011 Belgrade Half-Marathon, and 2014 London Marathon. Prince Philip is also interested in fine arts, financial markets, music and meteorology. Before the 5 October 2000 revolution, he travelled to Serbia and Bosnia. On 17 July 2001 Prince Philip and The Royal Family took up residence in The Royal Palace in Belgrade.
