TRH Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine hosted this evening at the White Palace the official opening of the three-day “Generali 24 Hours of Elegance”.

This year’s “Generali 24 Hours of Elegance” was held in cooperation with the British Chamber of Commerce, Jaguar, Belgrade Waterfront and the Serbian Alliance for Historic Vehicles (a member of FIVA) and is dedicated to British luxury brands that are synonymous with top quality craftsmanship and craftsmanship details.

This year’s event also celebrates the eightieth anniversary of the only Grand Prix race that took place in Belgrade in 1939 and whose Patron was HM King Peter II, the father of HRH Crown Prince Alexander. HM King Peter II, after whom the race was named, gave the Cup to the winner Tacio Nuvolari, one of the most famous drivers of the first half of the last century. After 80 years, on the very day of King Peter II’s birth, the Cup has returned to Belgrade, and as part of the “Generali 24 Hours of Elegance” event, was symbolically handed over to Crown Prince Alexander at tonight’s opening. As a reminder, the exhibition “HM King Peter II – Making of a King”, dedicated to his birthday, who was King of Yugoslavia, is currently showing at the White Palace.

The “Generali 24 Hours of Elegance” event kicked off with a grand opening of the unique MASTERS OF EXCELLENCE exhibition, featuring the masters of elegance: the famed London-based EDWARD SEXTON elegance house with its handmade suits that dresses world stars from Mick Jagger, Elton John to Naomi Campbell and Annie Lennox; TURNBULL & ASSER makers of hand-sewn shirts whose client was Sir Winston Churchill; masters of the exclusive handmade GAZIANO & GIRLING footwear, worn by Prince Charles.

The car star of the evening was the 100% electric Jaguar I-PACE, the European and World Car of the Year that was displayed in front of the White Palace.

In addition to established global brands, there are top new generation masters such as the Milan brand VIOLA MILANO with a collection of exclusive neckties, as well as Serbian wristwatch designer, Jovan Jelic, who creates under the HOH brand, Evica Gloves – handmade gloves by Evica Milovanov Penezic and Zoran Smiljanic, designer of sensational women’s hats under the Blackbirdfield brand.

At the reception guests had the opportunity to enjoy Bean and Leaf coffee, which is made only from selected high quality coffee beans.

During the gala dinner, all exhibited items were offered for bidding at the Charity auction benefiting HRH Crown Princess Katherine Humanitarian Foundation.

“Generali 24 Hours of Elegance” will last until September 8 and continues with events at other locations in Belgrade.
