THE COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL FOR THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE LIBERATION
OF SOUTH SERBIA |
The Medal was instituted in 1937 to commemorate
the 25th Anniversary of the liberation of South Serbia (today FYR of Macedonia).
After the collapse of the Ottoman Empire the 1913 Treaties of London and
Bucharest laid down new boundaries, and the territory of Southern Serbia
was joined to the Kingdom of Serbia. The officials attending the ceremony
at Skoplje were granted this Medal, which was worn suspended from red ribbon.
The Author was Mrs. Nada Doroshki, and the obverse displayed effigies of
King Petar I and Aleksandar I. |
