WORKSHOP 12-14 April 2006

OF THE SYMPOSIUM
The Second International Cardiac
Surgery Workshop was held in
Belgrade 12-14 April 2006 in the
“Mladost Best Western” Hotel. The
Workshop was organized by the
Institute for Cardiovascular
Diseases-Clinical Centre of Serbia
in cooperation with the Working
Group for Interventional Cardiology
of the European Association of
Cardiologist, the Serbian Academy of
Arts and Science, the Faculty of
Medicine in Belgrade and the
Humanitarian Foundation of Serbia:
“Heart for all”.
The Workshop consisted of
lectures given by distinguished
International Cardiologists from
Europe, China, Japan and India. The
objectives were achieved by
improving the diagnostics of
congenital heart diseases, selecting
children and adults with valve heart
disease who would benefit from
corrective surgery, performing
open-heart surgery in collaboration
with local medical teams, teaching
modern diagnostic methods as well as
appropriate surgical techniques in
order to obtain the transfer of
skills and knowledge.
