THE ROYAL BALKAN STEAM

“The Royal Balkan Steam” is
association based in Belgrade
engaged in the protection of steam
locomotives and preservation of
railways heritage. Their principal
aim is helping in the protection of
the remaining steam locomotives in
Serbia and advancement of museum
projects such as the “Sargan Figure-
of-Eight” in Mokra Gora, where they
have been active since 1977,
publishing Serbian railways heritage
and other popular railways books and
materials, and organizing special
trains to mark railways
anniversaries and other important
dates.
“The Royal Balkan Steam”
activities include attempts to
renovate and preserve the remaining
Royal Train carriages in Serbia and
to bring back to Serbia on of those
carriages from Czech Republic, where
it’s now located. The most important
carriage is used by HM King Peter I.
it was used by HM King Peter until 6
November 1915 when the entire Royal
Train was left in Dedina near
Krusevac.
