His Royal Highness Alexander Karadjordjevic
spoke for the entire two hours with the President of Russia

Putin has the power to do what he wishes

Moscow wishes to be a partner with the United States and it is important that mutual respect takes place since it is in the interest of both sides. We must become a member of the EU and at the same time maintain very close relations with Russia.

Crown Prince Alexander Karadjordjevic could very easily become a key man, if not in "making peace" then at least in bringing closer together the official stands of Russia and the British Foreign Office on Kosovo, our well informed sources say from Moscow - regardless of the fact that the descendant of the Royal Family of Karadjordjevic does not publically confirm this.

The Serbian Royal Couple has recently stayed in Moscow and has spent full two hours talking to President Putin.

Were you in Moscow as a special envoy who was supposed to contribute to the solving of the very complex political situation after the creation of the fake state of Kosovo?

- We were in Moscow because my wife received an award from the International Foundation for the Unity of Orthodox Christian Nations (IFUOCN). It was thanks to this very nice award given by His Holiness the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexei II that we met with President Putin. I am very proud of my wife and her humanitarian work. It was truly wonderful of Russia to recognize her work.

What was the topic of the conversation?

- I have excellent contacts all over the world and I consider  the meeting with President Putin to be truly exceptional.  President Putin is charming, capable and very intelligent. My wife and I were deeply impressed by the incredible knowledge he has about our region. The conversation was outstanding and the main subject was, of course, Kosovo. The President showed deep concern for our people in Kosovo and was very sympathetic.

PROUD OF HIS ANCESTORS - THE LIBERATORS OF KOSOVO

Do you think you could help bring closer the stands of Russia and Britain on Kosovo and Metohia, which are totally opposing each other at the moment?

- I believe in friendship with everyone and mutual respect. I cannot represent a foreign power. I wish good relations and understanding. We cannot live in this world without friends. I have said I was against imposed solutions. Kosovo is very close to my heart and to the heart of all Serbs. It is painful and very hard to accept what has happened. I am proud to be the descendant of King Peter I and King Alexander I who fought in Kumanovo and liberated Kosovo in 1912.

CONSTITUENCY  - THE PEOPLE OF SERBIA

Whose stand is the closest to you regarding what we should do next to solve the political dilemma – the stand of Kostunica, Nikolic, or Tadic?

- I am not a member of any political party. My constituency are the wonderful people of Serbia.

Were there any particular estimates related to the situation after the illegal proclamation of the state of Kosovo?

- You are aware of the position and the actions of the Russian Government over Kosovo and the interaction with the Serbian Government. I must say that President Putin has shown good will and concern for our people, and respectful to everyone else.

Who had initiated your meeting with President Putin?

- The meeting took place thanks to a prearranged plan initiated by His Holiness the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexei II. This was the first time I had met President Putin. Also present where His Holiness the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexei II, First Deputy Premier Medvedev and Foreign Minister Lavrov, and I was also very impressed with them. I was last in Russia in 2000 and the transformation I saw was extraordinary thanks to the hard work and commitment of President Putin and his colleagues. I was also very struck by the close relations between the Russian Government and the Russian Orthodox Church.

Did the authorities in Belgrade know about your meeting at the Kremlin?

- Many people were aware of my visit. I am extremely lucky thanks to the excellent reputation my wife has that doors are open to us across the world. My wife and I deeply value the friendship of many wonderful people including foreign heads of state, politicians, business people and prominent citizens across the world. We both believe in maintaining friendly contact with everyone.

Does Russia have the strength and the power to fight against the policy of force imposed by the US and its European satellites, and win?

- There is nothing personal about this question. My answer is: Russia has the will, strength and the power to do what it wishes. Russia also wishes to be a partner with the United States and it is important that mutual respect takes place, since it is in the interest of everyone. It is important the United States understand President Putin and the desire to be partners.

Do you think that the meeting with President Putin was successful, and what message do you have from the Cabinet of the first man of Russia?

- The meeting was very successful and positive in that it confirmed by my good impression of President Putin. I would recommend to those who do not know the President to reconsider their views since the President is a very affirmative and charming person. The President has done a great deal for Russia and brought it respect. It is important that there be balance in the world

Was the message directed to the British since you flew to Britain right after Moscow?

- Not at all, since my wife and I were in London at the time because we had a long standing commitment. If we had been in Belgrade we would have flown from Belgrade.

Do you believe that we can enter the European family of nations when they are taking away 15% of our territory, and in what way can this be done?

- I fully support our Government and the extremely difficult task to find a solution or compromise for Kosovo. I am shocked like everyone else, but I must point out that we must become a member of the European Union and maintain at the same time very close relations with Russia. Serbia cannot and must not become an isolated cut off island in the middle of the European Union since that would be totally detrimental for the future livelihood of our people. What we need as soon a possible is a very professional company specialising in lobbying for Serbia in the European Union and America. We failed to do that properly, it would be money well spent that would benefit Serbia very much. In addition, we need to work better together in the common interest of everyone in Serbia regardless of religion and ethnic origin. We must continue working on democracy, human rights and reforms so that we can show we are capable to rule two million Albanians with full human rights. It is a great responsibility.
