Last Tuesday, Pavle (Patriarch Pavle, head of the Serbian Orthodox Church) received at Pec Prince Alexander Karadjordjevic, pretender to the Serbian throne and descendent (son) of the last King of Yugoslavia, throne lost at the end of World War II, who left his residence in London to travel for the first time to Kosovo. “The monarchy is not something alien to Serbia, it forms part of its tradition and its history”, said the Patriarch. “However its restoration is in the hands of the people. It would be positive if the people want it, like it happened in Spain. One cannot impose it by force only voluntarily”.

El pasado martes, Pavle (Patriarca Pavle, jefe de la Iglesia Ortodoxa Serbia) recibió en Pec al príncipe Alexandre Karajorjevic, pretendiente de la corona de Serbia y descendiente (hijo) del último rey de Yugoslavia, destronado en la II Guerra Mundial, que dejó su residencia en Londres para viajar por vez primera a Kosovo. "La monarquía no es algo ajeno a Serbia, sino que forma parte de su tradición y su historia", alega el patriarca. "Pero su restauración está en manos del pueblo. Será positiva si el pueblo la quiere, como sucedió en España. No se puede imponer ni forzar su voluntad".
