Indianapolis - Serbian royalty is in Indiana pleading with Americans to help
Serbians dealing with major health issues.
Crown Prince Alexander and Princess Katherine say much of the medical
equipment in Serbia is old and needs to be replaced.
"We have the highest incidence of breast cancer. This is very, very
disturbing. We have 800 women in a village with breast cancer and this is
absolutely unacceptable - such a rise in young mothers," said Princess
Katherine.
"We live there and to see the needs and not be able to give what they
need...They have about 600 X-ray machines in the country, but there very old.
And when you see little babies on a table and no place to put them because of
incubators. As a mother, it's a sin. It's terrible," she said.
Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine of Serbia will speak at the annual
Women Like Us Afternoon and Speaker Series. Today on Indy Style the Royal couple
spoke about their work and missions, grandchildren and how they met.
