Royalty at banquet

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pg. Anak Hjh Saleha on Tuesday night attended a banquet in conjunction with His Majesty's 57th birthday celebration. It was held at the Istana Nurul Iman. Also in attendance were His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Pg Muda Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, HRH Prince Hj Sufri Bolkiah and other members of the royal family. His Majesty's special guests including HRH Crown Prince Alexander II of the Royal Palace of Belgrade, Yugoslavia and wife, HRH Crown Princess Katherine as well as their son, HRH Prince Alexander, HRH Princess Basma bte Talal and Al-Syed Walid Ismail Al-Kurdi of Jordan also attended the banquet.

Royal visit to SHHB Foundation

The Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation yesterday morning received His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II from The Royal Palace of Belgrade, Yugoslavia. Accompanying His Royal Highness was Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine and son, His Royal Highness Prince Alexander.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II was among the invited guests to the 57th birthday celebration of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

The royal family was greeted upon arrival by the Foundation's Chairman of Board of Directors, Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awg Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman who also delivered a welcoming speech.

A short presentation on the background of the Foundation was made by the Foundation's Managing Director, Dato Paduka Haji Abd Ghani bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Dewa Dato Paduka Haji Abd Rahim.

After the presentation, the royal family was taken on a tour of mini exhibitions at the Yayasan.

According to the Foundation, this was the last tour for the royal family before leaving the Sultanate.

Also present were other members of the Board of Directors together with their spouses as well as officers and staff of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation.

Brunei Ruler Meets Special Guests In The Country

Bandar Seri Begawan - His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei and Her Majesty granted separate audiences to His Majesty's special guests who are here to attend His Majesty's 57th Birthday Celebration. The audiences took place at Istana Nurul Iman yesterday afternoon.

His Majesty and Her Majesty first received in audience His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander, the second of the Royal Palace, Belgrade, Yugoslavia and wife Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine. The guests include their son, His Royal Highness Prince Alexander.

Her Royal Highness Princessi Basma Binti Talal and His Excellency Al-syed Walid Ismail Al-kurdi of Jordan followed.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, His Excellency Mr. Korn Dabbaransi and wife, Madam Rapeephan Dabbaransi came next. The guests include their sons, Mr. Kritaponc Dabbaransi and Mr. Kamolsut Dabbaransi.

Next was the Chief Minister of Sarawak, Datuk Doctor Haji Abdul Taib Bin Mahmud and wife Datin Laila Taib.

Next to be granted an audience was the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, His Excellency Doctor Surakiart Sathirathai and wife.

The Secretary of Defence of the Republic of the Philippines, the General Angelo T. Reyes and wife followed. Next was Malaysian Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, Dato Muhyiddin Bin Hajl Mohamad Yassin and wife, Datin Hajah Norainee Binti Haji Abdul Rahman.

His Majesty's special guests next were Sabah's Chief Minister, Datuk Musa Bin Haji Aman and wife Datin Hajah Faridah Binti Haji Tussain.

Indonesian Social Minister, His Excellency Bachtiar Chamsyah and wife Ibu Hajah Rosidah Bachtiar Chamsyah followed.

The last audience for His Majesty was the Republic of Singapore Minister for Community Development and Sports, Minister In Charge of Muslim Affairs, Associate Professor Yaacob Ibrahim.
