The Crown Prince: Constitutional Monarchy the
best solution

Novi Sad – Prince Alexander
Karadjordjevic estimates that reestablishment of constitutional
parliamentary monarchy in Serbia would be the greatest
contribution to its coming out of the crisis.
In his statement for
yesterday’s issue of “Dnevnik”, he estimated that a monarch
“provides the guarantee for democracy, unity and continuity“,
and added that “Serbia achieved all its great victories
throughout its history as a monarchy”. Prince Alexander
Karadjordjevic emphasized that many developed countries in the
world are constitutional monarchies, pointing at the examples of
Sweden, Denmark, Great Britain, Spain, Holland, Luxembourg,
Belgium, Japan, Canada and Australia.
Speaking about the disputes in
the family of Karadjordjevic on who the heir to the throne is,
Prince Alexander emphasized the rules of the Royal House that
clearly bear out that the firstborn son, i.e. himself, is the
first in the line of succession to the throne.
“The members of the royal
family have no option but to respect what two great kings
established. It is their blood in their veins”, said Alexander
Karadjordjevic.

Ripe for monarchy
Crown Prince Alexander
Karadjordjevic claims that the situation in Serbia is ripening
for reestablishment of constitutional parliamentary monarchy and
that this form of the state would not endanger the relationships
in the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro, but “even improve
the relationship between the two states”. Crown Prince Alexander
Karadjordjevic told to political parties in Serbia that they
have to understand that a constitutional monarch, like himself,
fully recognizes all political parties that function on
democratic principles.
