The princely family of Karadjordjevic organized a reception for the children of Belgrade the day before Christmas. For the local young ones, particularly for those from not so wealthy environments, it was a true journey into a fairytale, with each of them having a role of their own, to shake hands with and receive a present from a Prince!

So they had their day at The White Palace. Thanks to the program “Ekspres helps children”, the children from refugee camp “Vidikovac” came to the Palace.

Fourteen year old Milena Stojkovic, a refugee from Kosovo, was shivering with excitement like a leaf, for there was a Prince in front of her, and our Prince Philip, too! And of course he addressed her with all due respect... Truth to say, like the other children, she hasn’t had the chance to learn “reverence” or “curtsy”, nor was she aware at that moment that it was the way for a lady to make salutation according to the court protocol.
