Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine, accompanied by Mrs Betty Roumeliotis, sister of HRH Crown Princess Katherine attended today the Holy Liturgy at the St. George Church in Oplenac on the occasion of the Patron Saint Day of the St. George Church and HM King Peter I Foundation. The Holy Liturgy was officiated by His Grace Bishop Jovan of Sumadija with Father Tihon Archimandrite of Studenica Monastery and clergy. HRH Crown Prince Alexander II cut the Slava cake with Bishop Jovan.
The Miraculous Icon of the Mother of God the milk-bearing, by the blessings of His Holiness patriarch Irinej of Serbia, present to His Beatitude Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos, was displayed at the church during the ceremony. The Holy Icon was previously displayed in Hilandar Monastery at the Mt. Athos in Greece.
St. George Day is the mostly celebrated Patron Saint Day in Serbia. Great number of faithful gathered at the St George Church in Oplenac to celebrate this great feast with the Royal Couple. Their Royal Highnesses congratulated Patron Saint Day to Mr Dragan Reljic, manager of the Foundation and staff.
