LIFELINE HELLAS CHARITY EVENT ON MYKONOS ISLAND FOR CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL AGHIA SOFIA
Belgrade, Mykonos, 31 July 2011-Lifeline Hellas Humanitarian Organisation hosted a charity event SEA THE PLEASURE OF GIVING that took place last night at Cavo Tagoo Hotel on the island of Mykonos in Greece under the patronage and in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander, Crown Princess Katherine, Prince Peter and Prince Philip.
The aim of this event was to raise funds for the Children’s Hospital “Aghia Sofia," which is a major hospital in Athens and needs incubators for its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Speeches were delivered by TRH Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine, Mr. Trikardos, Honorary President of Lifeline Hellas and Dr. Zisis Boukouvalas, President of Lifeline Hellas.
In the welcoming speech, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine stated: “It makes me very proud and touched that I am able to return to the Greek people all the kindness and support they have provided me far past decade in my efforts to help the people of Serbia. Greece is now struggling with very bad situation and I will support them with my heart and soul. I would like to thank all people of good will that recognize importance of this endeavour, in these difficult times that surrounds us. Your support is evidence of true compassion”.
Over 200 people from Greece and abroad gathered at the event organised under the theme SEA THE PLEASURE OF GIVING supporting the cause. Among them were: Mrs. Mariangela and Mr. Vassilis Trikardos, George Tsavliris, Mariza Fasianou, Irene Daifa, Irene Vassilopoulou, Andreas Tsavliris, Dr. Zisis Boukouvalas, Mrs. Alkistis Prinou Boukouvalas, Mr. and Mrs. Metaxasa, Mrs. Kousta, Mrs. Ersi Agiostratiti, Mrs. Dorothy Papapostolou, Mrs. Vicky Tsibili and Mr. Kousathanas, the Mayor of Mykonos, and many others.
The event was supported by: ANGELO DI SPIRITO ROSA, CAVO TAGOO, DIAGEO and ZAGORI.
During the programme guests had the pleasure to enjoy a performance of popular singer Anastasia.
Lifeline Humanitarian Organization was founded in 1993 under the patronage of HRH Crown Princess Katherine and is operating from offices in the United Kingdom, Greece, United States of America and Canada and they work closely with the Foundation in Belgrade in bringing vital humanitarian aid and medical equipment to Serbia. So far, Lifeline has saved many lives and created a better future for all the people in Serbia regardless of religion or ethnic origin and will continue to support medical institutions, orphanages and the socially deprived. |
