CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER II AND CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE IN BANJA LUKA FOR 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF REPUBLIKA SRPSKA
Banja Luka, Belgrade, 9 January 2012 - Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Nikola Moravcevic, member of the Crown Council, visited Banja Luka today where they met with H.E. Mr. Milorad Dodik, President of Republika Srpska, Prime minister Mr. Milorad Dzombic, Mr. Igor Radojicic, speaker of the Parliament and Government officials of Republika Srpska for the occasion of St. Stefan, the Patron’s Saint Day and 20th Anniversary of Republika Srpska. HRH Crown Princess Katherine has visited the Home for children without parental care “Rada Vranjesevic” in Banja Luka and delivered Christmas presents.
Their Royal Highnesses attended Holy Liturgy officiated by His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia and several Hierarchs of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the clergy at the Cathedral Church of Christ the Saviour in Banja Luka. After the Holy Liturgy the Royal Couple attended the ceremony at the Palace of the Republic, where H.E. Mr. Boris Tadic, President of Serbia was awarded by the Medal of Republika Srpska with the strip, together with former presidents of Republika Srpska, and several Hierarchs of Serbian Orthodox Church. Mr. Milorad Dodik, president of Republika Srpska was awarded a “Druzba” medal by President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev. Ceremony was attended by H.E. Dr Mirko Cvetkovic, prime minister of Serbia, H.E: Mr. Ivica Dacic, first deputy prime minister and minister of the interior of Serbia, H.E: Dr Jovan Krkobabic, deputy prime minister of Serbia and many other distinguished guests. Their Royal Highnesses then attended the Commemoration Event titled “Republika Srpska – a voice to be heard” at the sports center “Borik together with state officials of Republika Srpska, members of the diplomatic corps and a great number of citizens.
