HRH CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER II EASTER MESSAGE 2007
- JULIAN AND GREGORIAN CALENDAR-
Easter is once again upon us. This Christian holiday should be embraced with
love, respect and sorrow as well as joy in our hearts, as we mark both the
Passion and the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
This holiday is a victory of light over darkness, of life over death, of
reason over madness.
This is a call for all to wake up our inner beings, to bring about the best
in us, as individuals on this Earth, and as human beings as a whole, because we
are not alone in this world and our lives here have a deeper meaning.
Our country is at an historic crossroads, and our new Government has, sadly,
not yet been formed. We are facing the tragedy of Kosovo and the violation of
the sovereignty of our entire country and all its citizens, which demands more
unity and harmony than ever before, so that a just solution for Serbia is found.
The obligations we have towards the international community must be fulfilled,
and all other preconditions must be met so that our people have a secure future,
economic stability and the social protection they deserve.
Let us in our thoughts and prayers ask that people who live in this country
act responsibly. Let us do what we can, as much as we are capable of doing, for
the benefit of our loved ones and for the future of Serbia.
Once again, I stress that the only way forward for Serbia is to uphold the
values of democracy and human rights. Let us be respectful of ourselves as well
as others. Let us embrace our differences! Instead of them being the factors of
division, let us make them the factors of unity. Let us hug and respect our
neighbours regardless of their ethnic origin or religion, let us help those in
need and let us embrace our homeland with love.
There have been too many problems and situations the past years. Suffering,
hatred, divisions….. Let us remember that Christ suffered at the Golgotha for
the sake of us all. Let us remember that we are His children and that His
sacrifice was made for the sake of our salvation!
Let us remember His way and try to become better in every way that we can!
Let our hearts be high!
Let us walk proudly into the future ahead!
Christ is risen!
He is risen indeed! |
