MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR HM KING PETER II OF YUGOSLAVIA
Belgrade, 3 November 2011 – The memorial service for His Majesty King Peter II of Yugoslavia, officiated by the priests from Topola, was held today at the Church of St. George in Oplenac.
Today was the 41st anniversary of death of the late King, father of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II. Service was attended by Mr. Miki Savicevic, member of the Crown Cabinet, members of the King Peter’s Endowment, and great number of citizens who came to pay their respect to the late King.
His Majesty King Peter II of Yugoslavia, the last King of Yugoslavia, died on 3rd November 1970 in the hospital in Denver, Colorado. He was buried in St. Sava Church in Libertyville, Illinois and is the only European Monarch buried in the United States. |
