HRH CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE ATTENDS OPENING OF SPECIAL OLYMPICS WORLD SUMMER GAMES ATHENS 2011

Athens, 27 June 2011 – Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine and her daughter Mrs. Alison Andrews attended the opening ceremony of Special Olympics World Summer Games 2011 in Athens.

The 2011 World Games were officially opened by His Excellency Karolos Papoulias, President of the Hellenic Republic. This event gathered more than 7,000 Special Olympics Athletes from nearly 180 countries around the world that will compete in the largest international multi-sport event of the year.

HRH Crown Princess Katherine as a patron of Serbian Special Olympics was very pleased and proud to meet with the Serbian Olympic team at the Opening ceremony in Athens, to support them and inspire them to give their best in the upcoming competitions
