ST. SAVA DAY ACTIVITIES OF THE ROYAL COUPLE

Belgrade, 27 January 2012 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine marked Saint Sava Day by attending a number of events dedicated to the father of Serbian spirituality and the founder of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Prince Rastko Nemanjic - Saint Sava.

In the morning Their Royal Highnesses attended a Holy Liturgy which was officiated by His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia and Hierarchs of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Following the ceremony of cutting the Slava cake took place in the St. Sava Temple.

Next Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine visited the school for the visually impaired children "Veljko Ramadanovic“ in Zemun, where they delivered an interactive board, school bags and school supplies.

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine then visited the Saint Sava special hospital for cerebrovascular diseases in Belgrade where they attended a celebration of their St. Patron’s Day.

Then Their Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine attended the Saint patron day clebration at the Primary School Dusan Dugalic, the first specialized school for mentally challenged children in Serbia. The Royal Couple delivered books and toys to the pupils, a donation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation.
