ROYAL COUPLE ATTENDED OPENING OF EXHIBITION AT THE ARCHIVE OF SERBIA ON THE EVE OF SERBIA’S STATEHOOD DAY

Belgrade, 14 February 2012 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine accompanied by Mr Dragomir Acovic attended today the opening of the exhibition “Serbia: Continuance and Remembering” at the Archive of Serbia, on the eve of the Statehood Day of Serbia. The exhibition was opened by H.E. Prof. Dr. Slavica Djukic – Dejanovic, Speaker of the Serbian Parliament. Their Royal Highnesses were accompanied by Mr. Dragomir Acovic, Chairman of the Crown Council.

The event was well attended by distinguished guests – members of the Serbian Government and Parliament, members of the diplomatic corps, as well as eminent representatives of cultural and scientific communities.

Their Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine will attend the central celebration of the Statehood Day of Serbia as well as the 208th anniversary of the First Serbian Uprising in Orasac, near Topola, on Wednesday, 15 February, followed by a memorial service in St. George's Church in Oplenac. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II will lay a wreath and pay respects at the tomb of the Supreme Leader of the First Serbian Uprising Djordje Petrovic Karadjordje, the Founding father of the Karadjordjevic Royal Dynasty.
