ROYAL COUPLE GUESTS OF HONOUR IN CHICAGO AT FUNDRAISER EVENT IN AID OF LIFELINE TO FIGHT CANCER IN SERBIA

Chicago, 19 October 2011 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine were guests of honour at a special fundraising dinner kindly organized by their good friends Mr. and Mrs. Fred Krehbiel on Tuesday in Chicago, to raise funds for the Institute for Oncology in Belgrade.

HRH Crown Princess Katherine was very emotional while presenting the severe situation in Serbia regarding cancer mortality and morbidity. HRH Crown Princess is the patron of Princess Katherine Foundation in Serbia and Lifeline Humanitarian Organization in the United States of America, Canada, United Kingdom and Greece, are very much involved in fighting cancer, and especially breast cancer in Serbia. So far they have organized, together with the Ministry of Health of Serbia, two international conferences on breast cancer screening for Serbian doctors, with the participation of renown international experts. Lifeline Humanitarian Organization secured a donation of a mobile digital mammography unit in 2009, which has been in use all over Serbia.

Mr. Krehbiel is a Director of Molex, Tellabs, Inc., and DeVry Inc. He is the Chairman of the Chicago Zoological Society and a Trustee of the Rush University Medical Center, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Lyric Opera, Museum of Science and Industry, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and Chicago Historical Society.
