ROYAL COUPLE VISIT NOVI SAD AND VETERNIK
HUMANITARIAN DELIVERY OF A MINI BUS WITH AMBASSADOR OF THE SOVEREIGN AND MILITARY ORDER OF MALTA
VALUABLE DONATION TO UNIVERSITY OF NOVI SAD

Belgrade, 3 June 2011 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine, visited today Novi Sad and Veternik, where they delivered a mini bus to Center for children and youth with developmental problems, together with H.E. Mr. Alberto di Luca, the ambassador of the Sovereign and Military order of Malta, as well as a valuable donation of software and equipment to the Association of Student’s with disabilities at the University of Novi Sad.

Their Royal Highnesses arrived in Novi Sad in the morning and first visited the Rector of Novi Sad University, Prof. Dr. Miroslav Veskovic. After a warm welcome, Crown Prince Alexander addressed professors and students of Novi Sad University and emphasized: "As you know, my Foundation for education initiated the Career center here at Novi Sad University. I am very proud about the success of this center, and progress of Novi Sad University in general, I warmly congratulate you“. Their Royal Highnesses delivered valuable books to Novi Sad University Library.

After that, Their Royal Highnesses visited the Association of students with disabilities, and delivered very valuable software, a special programme ANREADER which enables blind students to read. The president of the association warmly thanked Their Royal Highnesses for the very precious gift.

After that, Their Royal Highnesses visited the Career Center of Novi Sad University, which was started with great help of HRH Crown Prince Alexander's Foundation for Education. They were welcomed by Ms. Sonja Sovljanski, director of the center and several students who use this center for their educational purposes.

Their Royal Highnesses then visited Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS) headquarters, where they were greeted by Mr. Kiril Albertovic Kravcenko, general manager of NIS, and members of the managing team. HRH Crown Prince Alexander expressed his satisfaction with the visit to this very important company, and added: "Serbia needs to attract more investments in our best companies, and cooperation between NIS and Gazprom should be good example for other Serbian and Russian companies to follow“.

After that, The Royal Couple visited the Ivkovic atelier and had a pleasant walk in Dunavska Street in downtown Novi Sad, they had a lot of conversations and photo with citizens of Novi Sad.

Then Their Royal Highnesses visited Stylos Company, where they were met by Mr. Bosko Blazic, general manager, and a great number of employees. Stylos Company has been Royal Purveyor for several years, and was part of many humanitarian actions with the Royal Palace.

Their Royal Highnesses then continued to the Center for children and youth with developmental problems in Veternik, where they were joined by H.E. Mr. Alberto di Luca, the ambassador of Sovereign and Military order of Malta and Mrs. di Luca, and their friends. Dr Dragan Milosevic, director of this institution, welcomed the distinguished guests and thanked them for the valuable donation. HRH Crown Prince Alexander thanked H.E. Mr. di Luca for the donation and also praised HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation and Lifeline Hellas and Lifeline Chicago humanitarian organization for their hard work in helping most vulnerable in Serbia.

In her speech Princess Katherine emphasized: “I wish that you use this vehicle for a long time. Besides the mini-bus we brought you clothes and shoes, as well as cakes and fruit, a donation of Lifeline Humanitarian organizations from Chicago and Greece, as well as Coca Cola and Chokoland. This is a good example that joint efforts produce good results. Thank you very much”.
