ROYAL COUPLE HOST RECEPTION AT THE ROYAL PALACE FOR SERBIAN STUDENTS WHO STUDY ABROAD

Belgrade, 28 August 2011 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine hosted a reception for Serbian students who study abroad at the most prestigious world universities and who participated in the project “Get to know Serbia”, also present were representatives of local municipalities that project took part in the project and distinguished guests at the Royal Palace today.  

This project was implemented in 18 municipalities throughout Serbia by the National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED) in cooperation with the Ministry of Religion and Diaspora, HRH Crown Prince Alexander Foundation for Education, and the Organization of Serbian students abroad (OSSI), with support of Telenor Foundation and Oplenac Hotel.

HRH Crown Prince Alexander welcomed the guests hoped they gained a valuable experience during the two week stay in Serbia, which would motivate them to come back when they finish their studies, to live and work in the homeland. 

Speeches were delivered also by Tijana Djordjevic, a student from Italy from the municipality Ruma and by Violeta Jovanovic, Executive director of NALED.

The goal of the project is to connect with the Serbian Diaspora and to encourage young and educated people to come back to Serbia and to work here for the benefit of the country.
