BELGRADE ART FESTIVAL PARTICIPANTS AT THE ROYAL PALACE

Belgrade, 2 September 2004- TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine hosted a reception at The Royal Palace last night, for the participants of the Belgrade Art Festival organized by Mr. Dragan Sakan and “New Moment” agency.

The reception was attended by the artists from 17 countries, HE Minister of Culture Mr. Dragan Kojadinovic, the Mayor of Belgrade Mrs. Radmila Hrustanovic, members of the advisory bodies of the Crown, public figures and representatives of the diplomatic corps.

HRH Crown Prince Alexander II warmly welcomed the guests, emphasizing that The Royal Family has always warmly gave its support to art and the young and talented people.

“Serbia is part of Europe and is a member of the world community of nations. The Belgrade art festival is a beautiful gift to our country, to Belgrade and to all our citizens. I am very glad to be the patron of this important event that has been organized for the first time. I hope this is just the beginning of a long tradition” – emphasized the Crown Prince in his speech.

The guests were then addressed by Mr. Dragan Sakan who thanked Their Royal Highnesses for their great hospitality to the Festival participants, and by the Minister of Culture Mr. Dragan Kojadinovic and the Mayor of Belgrade Mrs. Radmila Hrustanovic who wished success to the organizers and participants of the Festival.

Belgrade Art Festival will be officially opened tomorrow at the Atelier 212 theatre where HRH Crown Prince Alexander II will deliver “The Prince of Creativity” award.

From 2 to 30 September, through many of its programs, the Festival is going to promote art design and creativity. This is also an opportunity to exchange experiences in this area, make contacts and build bridges of cooperation.
