Their Royal Highnesses visited Kragujevac Belgrade, 29 September 2004 - Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Princess Katherine have visited Kragujevac today. Their Royal Highnesses were accompanied by Mr Robert Davies, the CEO of the “The Prince of Wales Business Leaders Forum” and by Mr Stephen O’Brien, chairman of the “London First” Bank. At first Their Royal Highnesses and their guests paid the visit to the Kragujevac City Assembly, whose president dr Vlajko Rajkovic and his closest associates welcomed them there. Dr Rajkovic informed the guests about a development plan of Kragujevac and pointed out to them the difficulties they are meeting. A visit to the factory “Zastava cars” followed. The adviser to the Director General for reconstruction Mr Milosav Djordjevic and commercial director Mr Vladeta Kostic briefed the Crown Prince and Princess, Mr Robert Davies and Mr Stephen O’Brien about a current situation in the only car factory in our country. A visit to the factory “Zastava sport and hunt weapons” followed. Their host there was Mr Sasa Milosevic, Director of Zastava arms production. He presented a production program and development plans of this important part of the factory. Their Royal Highnesses and their guests then visited the Clinical Medical Centre of Kragujevac. They handed over a donation of medical equipment, incubators whose value is seven thousands Euros and equipment for destroying used needles, one of three apparatuses of that kind in our country. This equipment was secured thanks to the great efforts of the HRH Princess Katherine Foundation. “We know very well that in last ten years you have been facing numerous problems, but also that you have managed to protect chivalrously the honour of the profession, and I congratulate you on all of that. The children are the most valuable thing that we have and the obligation of all of us is to try our best that our maternity wards have the necessary equipment and to secure for our doctors and nurses a necessary material that they need for their work. My family and I shall try to help you further whenever possible” - stressed in her address the Princess. Their Royal Highnesses then went looking around the Centre and spent some time talking to the patients.
