NEW «SIEMENS» BUSINESS CENTRE IN BELGRADE OFFICIALLY OPENED

Belgrade, 10 December 2004 – HRH Crown Prince Alexander II has attended this evening the ceremony of the official opening of the new business centre of «Siemens» Company D.O.O. in Belgrade www.siemens.co.yu.

On behalf of the «Siemens» company D.O.O. the Crown Prince: was warmly welcomed by the General Director and the representative of the «Siemens» AG Mr. Obrad Spremic, the Chairman of the Board of Directors Mr. Volfgang Hirtsi and the Commercial Director, Mr. Kurt Swartsmiller.

On the occasion of the official opening of the new business centre a short presentation took place. The history of this successful company was presented but also the plans for its development expansion in future.

«Siemens» Company D.O.O. has a long tradition in our region. In 1903 the first x–ray machine made by this company arrived in Sabac. Since then, through the continuous co–operation, during hard times, «Siemens» has been slowly but surely, opening its way through and getting trust in our country. Today this company is an active member in the development of various segments of our economy.

The President of the Chamber of Commerce Mr. Slobodan Milosavljevic and the Belgrade City Mayor, Mr. Nenad Bogdanovic then also addressed the present guests. They expressed their pleasure that «Siemens» Company is an active participant in the development of our economy and they expressed their hope that a mutual co-operation would enable Serbia become one of the main economy leaders in the region.

Beside Crown Prince Alexander II the ceremony was also attended by: the Minister of Mining and energetics Mr. Radomir Naumov, the Belgrade City Mayor, Mr. Nenad Bogdanovic, the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Slobodan Milosavljevic, the President of the Municipality of Novi Beograd, Mr. Zeljko Ozegovic, as well as the representatives of the companies involved in the energetics, medical equipment, traffic, telecommunications and education.
