KOSOVO PUPILS VISIT THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES AT THE WHITE PALACE

Belgrade, 27 January 2005 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Princess Katherine hosted a reception at The White Palace for the pupils of Elementary schools from Kosovo and Metohia and for the participants of the contest for the best literature work with the topic: “It is difficult to be without a friend as it is difficult for the bird to be without a forest”, organized by the Education – Science Program of RTS (Sate Television).

The pupils and their teachers were greeted by HRH Crown Prince Alexander II who warmly welcomed them and wish them all the best for today’s holiday, the school Slava Saint Sava. The Crown Prince expressed his pleasure to see so many children responded to this contest.

“You have been writing about friendship and you have put your emotions into your work. We, the adults, can sometimes learn something from you children. You reminded us that friendship is the most important thing in the world and that friendships are to be created for a life and not just for a short while. We have this as a tradition of our people, and we have to keep this tradition. We have to be friends with each other, because that is the only way to achieve a lot in life. A person by himself can do little or even nothing. With the help of his friends he can easily solve any problem. Do remember that!

I wish you a comfortable stay and I hope that you will pass your impressions to your friends and your parents “– pointed out the Crown Prince.

Their Royal Highnesses delivered the books “Vozd Karadjordje” and “King Peter I Karadjordjevic” to the most successful participants of the contest, and sweet packages prepared by the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine to all pupils.

Pupils were taken for on a tour of The White and The Royal Palace’s, and they familiarized themselves with the historical and cultural significance of this unique complex.
