OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE OFFICE FOR
TRADE COOPERATION Belgrade, 17 March 2005 – HRH Crown Prince Alexander II was present today at the official opening of the office for trade cooperation between Serbia and Iran within the gallery of Persian carpets, rugs and handicrafts called “Europerper Apadana”. At the very beginning the present were greeted by Mr. Slobodan Jankovic, who thanked HRH Crown Prince Alexander II and HE Iyed Morteza Hezdari, Ambassador of Republic of Iran on behalf of director Mrs. Talilo Halili and himself for their presence, which gives importance to this significant launch of successful trade cooperation between Serbia and Iran. Afterwards HRH Crown Prince Alexander II and HE Ambassador Hezdari cut the strip and officially opened the first office for trade cooperation between Serbia and Iran, within which there is also a gallery. Beautiful hand-made Persian carpets, handicrafts and decorations are exhibited in the gallery, and reflect the rich cultural heritage of Iran in the best way. At this important event also present were representatives of the diplomatic corps, public and cultural life. The office and gallery carry the name of the most beautiful Palace in Iran – the Arpadane, which was first destroyed when Iran was conquered by Alexander the Great during his crusades. With today’s opening of the office and gallery “Arpadana” in Belgrade, the chain of the large number of “Arpadana” galleries World wide has been enlarged.
