THE CHANCELLERY OF
H.R.H. CROWN PRINCE Alexander II
OF YUGOSLAVIA

APPEAL OF HRH CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER II

During the visit of the University Children’s Clinic in Tirsova Street in Belgrade, and the official opening of the new ward for intensive care named after HRH Crown Princess Katherine Karadjordjevic, Their Royal Highnesses became more acquainted with the incident where a five-year old girl (B.M.) was seriously wounded and a person killed by the weapon. Three more people were also seriously wounded.

Shocked by this tragedy, The Crown Prince Alexander wholeheartedly appeals to all the state bodies, in whose authority this is, to prevent similar accidents by initiating a special period of amnesty for individuals or institutions possessing such illegal weapons and lethal instruments to hand them into the authorities as soon as possible at special locations without prosecution for the time of the amnesty. The Crown Prince appeals for a campaign to be initiated as soon as possible.

His Royal Highness is familiar with the positive actions that were carried out and are being carried out by the state bodies on the work of regulatory rules and implementation of regulations, but also believes that further tragedies could be prevented by a wide-ranging campaign explaining the amnesty. He deeply believes that we must do all we can to protect human dignity and existence from irresponsibility, carelessness or even evil intentions.

Human life is sacred, and a serene and the happy life of the children and all individuals is an obligation when we recognize ourselves as a responsible society and conscious citizens.
