NEW
VEHICLE FOR THE TRANSPORT OF
DISABLED PERSONS
Donation worth 23.000 Euros
Belgrade, 13 July, 2005 – Their
Royal Highnesses Crown Prince
Alexander II and Crown Princess
Katherine delivered today at the
Belgrade City Hall a new “Peugeot”
vehicle for the transportion of
disabled persons.
Beside Their Royal Highnesses,
the official delivery of the vehicle
was attended by Mrs. Radmila
Hrustanovic, Deputy Mayor of
Belgrade, Mrs. Zorica Pavlovic,
Secretary of the Secretariat for
Social and Child Protection, Mrs.
Vesna Mandic, Director of Fashion
Agency “Fabrika”, Miss Dragana
Ognjenovic, fashion designer, as
well as representatives of the
Association for disabled persons.
At the beginning, Mrs Radmila
Hrustanovic, Deputy of Mayor of
Belgrade, greeted all the present
and thanked Their Royal Highnesses
for their great care for our
citizens and their wish to include
disabled persons in the life of the
city.
HRH Crown Princess Katherine
expressed happiness at attending for
this important occasion and
emphasized that the main goal of the
Foundation, which is under her
patronage, is to help the
fellow-citizens that need help the
most and to show them that they are
not alone.
“We started to gather these funds
in February, when we jointly
organized the humanitarian fashion
show, and put all the income into
the fund for the purchase of this
vehicle that we are delivering today
to the Belgrade City Hall. I wish to
thank everybody who contributed to
the success of this action and in
this way helped make the disabled
persons feel that they are not alone
and that this is their city in every
possible sense of the word” –
emphasized The Crown Princess in her
addressing.
The vehicle was purchased from
the funds gathered at the
humanitarian fashion show held at
The White Palace on 14 February
2005, where the models of our famous
designer Dragana Ognjenovic, and the
collection of haute couture by the
fashion house “Egon von Furstenberg”
were showed. The vehicle is part of
the motor poll of the City Traffic
that is regularly used by 122
members of the Association of
disabled, and performs monthly
around 3000 regular and 1000
irregular tours. This transport is
organized in order to satisfy
disabled persons in the most optimal
way, but due to the lack of these
vehicles some parts of the city are
still not covered.
