THE
RACE OF THE YEAR "THE MEMORIAL OF
KING ALEXANDER I"

Royal Highnesses Crown Prince
Alexander II and Crown Princess
Katherine attended yesterday the
“Memorial of King Alexander I”, the
race of the year at the Belgrade
racecourse.
HRH Crown Prince Alexander II
awarded a cup to the owner of the
head Ce Gile, the winner of the
gallop race, which carries the name
of his celebrated grandfather King
Alexander Karadjordjevic, and which
has been reestablished as a
traditional manifestation of the
racecourse “Careva Cuprija“, to
delight of the fans of gallop races.
The gallop race the “Memorial of
King Alexander I” is our counterpart
to the “Arc de Triomphe” at
Longchamps in Paris and “The Race of
King George and Queen Elisabeth” in
Epsom.
