VISIT TO THE MUNICIPALITY OF ADA
Opening of the Office for the
Poverty Reduction in the
Municipality of Ada
Belgrade, 9 September, 2005 –
Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince
Alexander II and Crown Princess
Katherine visited today the
Municipality of Ada and attended a
ceremony on the occasion of the
opening the Office for Poverty
Reduction in their municipality.
The municipality of Ada is one of
the poorest municipalities in Serbia
and Montenegro and according to the
needs of the local people and the
anti-poorness strategy; the
Government of the Republic of Serbia
gave its support for the opening of
the first Municipal Office of
Poverty Reduction.
Beside Their Royal Highnesses,
the opening of the Office was also
attended by Mrs. Vesna
Piperski-Tucakov, the Deputy
Minister of Labor, Employment and
Social Affairs, Mr. Irmelji Ferenc,
the President of the Municipality of
Ada, and many other reputable
guests.
Their Royal Highnesses Crown
Prince Alexander II and Crown
Princess Katherine, with The
Foundation of HRH Crown Princess
Katherine, delivered today one truck
of humanitarian aid to the
Municipality of Ada and gave Their
contribution to the fight against
poverty in this area.
Their Royal Highnesses also
visited the Orthodox and the Roman
Catholic Church in the Municipality
of Ada, as well as the Elementary
School “Novak Dugalic” in the
village of Mol, from where the
poorest children have been coming
for years to The White Palace for
the Christmas and Easter receptions.
