CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER II AND CROWN
PRINCESS KATHERINE IN AUSTRALIA
Melbourne, November 8, 2005 -
Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince
Alexander II and Crown Princess
Katherine will be visiting Australia
from November 9 - 14, 2005 upon
invitation of the Serbian Orthodox
Church in Australia and His Grace
Milutin, Bishop of Australia and New
Zeeland.
On their first official trip to
Australia, Their Royal Highnesses
will visit the Serbian Orthodox
Church and community in Melbourne,
Canberra and Sydney. Of particular
significance is their personal
endorsement and support of the
establishment in Sydney of St. Sava
College, the first Serbian Orthodox
School to be founded in Australia.
The school will be located in the
south-west of Sydney where many
thousand Serbian refugees from the
former Yugoslavia have begun new
lives.
Crown Prince Alexander II will
meet with various representatives of
government to warmly thank Australia
for its exemplary acceptance of
refugees from the former Yugoslavia.
He will also encourage Australian
Serbs to love and respect their new
homeland, whilst maintaining strong
links with the country of their
origin for the benefit of both
Australia and Serbia.
Their Royal Highnesses will also
have an opportunity to inform the
Serbian community about the
four-year-long successful
humanitarian work of the Foundation
of Her Royal Highness Princess
Katherine.
