CELEBRATION OF BELGRADE ARCHBISHOPRIC’S 80TH ANNIVERSARY

Belgrade, December 7, 2005 – HRH Crown Prince Alexander II attended today the final Eucharistic liturgy at the Ascension of Holly Mary Cathedral on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the restoration of the Belgrade Archbishopric of the Roman Catholic Church.

Following the procession participated by ministrants, priests, bishops as well as Monsignor Stanislav Hocevar, the Archbishop of Belgrade, who then welcomed and blessed the guests.

Among those present, there were the Serbian Parliament speaker Mr. Predrag Markovic, diplomats accredited to Belgrade, representatives of the Vracar municipality and a number of Belgraders.

Monsignor pointed out that the East and the West should meet in reconciliation and solidarity, Holy Mary and unity.
