RECEPTION FOR PARTICIPANTS OF
EUROPEAN MEETING ON ENVIRONMENTAL
CHEMISTRY
Belgrade, December 9, 2005 – HRH
Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown
Princess Katherine organised a
reception last night at the White
Palace for the participants of an international
conference on the environmental
chemistry held in Belgrade
through December 10.
Some 200 guests from Serbia and
Montenegro and several foreign
countries had a chance to get
familiar with some historical and
artistic values of the White Palace,
one of two Royal Palaces within the
Dedinje compound.
Crown Prince Alexander II
attended on Wednesday, December 7,
at the NIS Jugopetrol headquarters,
the opening ceremony of this
international conference.
On that occasion, welcoming the
guests and wishing them a nice time
in Belgrade, Crown Prince Alexander
II said he hoped this gathering
would trigger the development of
this important area.
“The environment is the air we
breathe, the earth we walk on and
that this is the field which has to
develop in order for us to achieve a
better life quality,” Crown Prince
said.
Among those present at the
opening of the conference was HE
Aleksandar Popovic, Minister of
Science and Environment. Academician
and Chemistry Professor Dragomir
Vitorovic, PhD, a member of the
Advisory Bodies of the Crown
welcomed the participants and the
guests at the opening ceremony .
