61st ANNIVERSARY OF SERBIAN DAILY
FROM KOSOVSKA MITROVICA
Belgrade, December 19, 2005 – HRH
Crown Prince Alexander II today
extended his congratulations to the
weekly “Jedinstvo”, the only print
media in Serbian in Kosovo and
Methoija, on the occasion of its
61st anniversary.
The newspaper, once a main daily
published in Pristina the capital of
the Serbia and Montenegro’s southern
province of Kosovo and Metohija, is
now a weekly published in the
northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica,
a Serb enclave in the province.
“It is my honour to congratulate
you personally, to the management,
editors, journalists and all the
employees of the newspaper
“Jedinstvo”, your 61st anniversary,”
Crown Prince Alexander II said in a
letter to Mr Svetozar Vlahovic,
Director of the “Panorama” company,
the publisher of “Jedinstvo”.
“Your coverage helped the news
from the province became known to a
wider audience, despite the grave
circumstances you work under,” Crown
Prince added, wishing the newspaper
a successful future work on
protection of human rights, freedom
of speech and press and, above all,
of the truth.
