VUK AWARD

Belgrade 17 February 2006 - Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine attended a literature evening in Ilija M. Kolarac Foundation in Belgrade, thanks to an invitation of His Grace Bishop of Canada Mr. Georgije.

The magazine of the Serbian Orthodox Church Diocese of Canada “Istocnik” was awarded on that occasion with the Vuk award by the Cultural and Educational Union of Serbia that His Grace Bishop of Canada Mr. Georgije received.

Besides His Grace Bishop Georgije of Canada, Mr. Dr Branimir Jovanovic former director of Tesla museum, Reverend Vasilije Tomic editor in chief of Istocnik, author Mr. Dragomir Brajkovic and Mr. Dr Davor Milicevic also took part in the event. They spoke about the work of “Istocnik” and they presented to the Belgrade readers the latest edition of “Istocnik” – chrestomathy “Nikola Tesla and his time”.

His Grace Bishop Jovan of Sumadija , His Grace Bishop Fotije of Dalmatia, His Grace Bishop Atanasije of Hvostno, academics, authors and contributors of “Istocnik” magazine participated in the event.
