WORLD CARDIOLOGY LEADERS VISIT BELGRADE

Belgrade, 12 April 2006 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine opened today the Second International Cardiology Workshop in Hotel “Mladost“, organized under their patronage.

While addressing the participants of the distinctive medical gathering, which included a great number of medical professors, Crown Prince Alexander II emphasised the following:

“I am proud that my wife, Crown Princess Katherine is one of the Board Members of Foundation “For Your Heart“, that will help reduce cardio-vascular deceases mortality percentage.

Bearing in mind the hard times that we live in, well aware of the fact that the mortality rate of cardio-vascular deceases is high we truly hope that this two-day workshop will help you to find new knowledge and new techniques.

The Crown Prince also emphasised that “new techniques should help to treat patients better, faster and more efficient”. He also added that prevention and education of patients and the people is of the great importance.

A great number of foreign professors representing top league of world cardiology is proof that this gathering will be a success story. Intervention of “stent implantation” will be performed live during the workshop on a number of patients in the Clinical Centre of Serbia. These interventions will be broadcasted live via a video-link to the Congress Hall of Hotel M, with audio communication support. Professor Doctor Shigeri Saito from Japan, Professor Doctor Antonio Colombo from Italy and Professor Doctor Milan Nedeljkovic also addressed the participants of the workshop.
