CROWN PRINCE VISITED FLOODED
SETTLEMENT
Belgrade 14th April 2006 – His
Royal Highness Crown Prince
Alexander II visited today
inhabitants of Belgrade settlement
“Partizan” on Ada Ciganlija. People
welcomed warmly Crown Prince and
presented him with difficult and
complicated situation after the
floods of river Sava.
Expressing his deepest sympathies
for their great material loss after
the floods, Crown Prince got
acquainted to the details with all
the trouble that inhabitants of this
small community on Ada Ciganlija are
facing last couple of days. People
expressed their remorse and sorrow
for the fact that they have been, as
they say, left alone to fight with
water flood consequences. With
minimum technical equipment, that is
insufficient for normalisation of
the life conditions, their chances
are weak. People from “Partizan”
settlement appealed on His Royal
Highness to give to the relevant
institutions impulse with his
authority in order to help
sanitation of the damage.
“Partizan” settlement is facing
another hard night. Children and
older people have been evacuated
from the location, and Crown Prince
emphasised that humanitarian
disaster, possible with new flood
waves must be prevailed.
