ROYAL COUPLE VISITED BASKETBALL CLUB „RED STAR“

Belgrade, 25th May 2006 – Their Royal Highnesses Alexander II and Princess Katherine accompanied by Mr. Dragoljub Kavran, member of the Advisory Bodies to The Crown visited today Basketball Club “Red Star” in Mali Kalemegdan, Belgrade.

On this occasion Their Royal Highnesses met with Mr. Mirko Petrovic president of the Club, Mr. Dragan Sakota, Head coach of the Basketball Club “Red Star”, Mr. Stevan Karadzic coach of the junior team, members of the expert’s team and senior players of the BC “Red Star”. During the short conversation, in impressive atmosphere of the Red Star Hall of Fame, Their Royal Highnesses Alexander II and Princess Katherine were familiarized with many trophies that have been conquered by senior and junior teams of the Club.

“Achievements of the basketball players of the Red Star are incredible. It is my great pleasure to see many trophies that have been conquered by members of our and your Club. I’m happy with successes of all our sportsmen. Every success is exceptional opportunity to represent our country in the proper way”, stated HRH Alexander II in his speech.

Following the visit Their Royal Highnesses attended the training of the junior team of the Club.
