THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES AT THE HOLY
LITURGY ON ASCENSION DAY
Belgrade, 1 June 2006 – Their
Royal Highnesses Alexander II and
Princess Katherine attended the Holy
Liturgy in the Church of the
Ascension in Belgrade and the
traditional religious procession, on
Ascension Day –Belgrade’s Slava.
The Holy Liturgy was served by
the clergy of the Archdiocese of
Belgrade-Karlovac of the Serbian
Orthodox Church.
Beside Their Royal Highnesses
Alexander II and Princess Katherine
the official celebration of the
Ascension Day was also attended by
Mr. Nenad Bogdanovic the Mayor of
Belgrade, Mrs. Radmila Hrustanovic
Deputy Mayor of Belgrade, Mr.
Djordje Bobic the City Architect of
Belgrade, who is also the host of
the Slava, Mr. Dragoljub Kavran the
member of the Advisory Bodies to The
Crown, Mrs. Branka Bosnjak the
Architect, Mr. Andrija Milosevic
member of the Belgrade City Council
and other members of the City
Government as well as a large number
of citizens of Belgrade.
The Litany started from the
Church of Ascension through Terazije
and Knez Mihajlova Street to the
Cathedral Church where short prayer
for the health and the well being of
citizens was held. The Litany was
finished in the Church of the
Ascension.
Their Royal Highnesses will also
attend the reception hosted by Mr.
Nenad Bogdanovic the Mayor of
Belgrade in the City Assembly on the
occasion of Slava of Belgrade later
this evening.
