WORLD REFUGEE DAY

Belgrade, 19th June 2006 – On the occasion of the World Refugee Day, 20th June, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander extended his gratitude for all the activities that UNHCR is undertaking in our country to Mr. Lennart Kotsalainnen, representative of the UNHCR in Serbia.

““We are aware of the fact that there are a very large number of refuges in Serbia. Their serious social situation is the ultimate challenge not only for UNHCR, but for the great number of Non-Governmental Organizations as well”, stated Crown Prince in the letter to Mr. Kotsalainnen.

His Royal Highness also expressed his hope that UNCHR will continue to provide long-term solutions that could give opportunity for the refugees to continue their life with dignity, in the place they can consider home.
