60th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION OF HRH THE DUCHESS OF GLOUCESTER

London 21 June 2006. - Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine had the pleasure to be invited to  the sixtieth birthday celebrations of Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Gloucester at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Her Royal Highness is the wife of the Duke of Gloucester who is the first cousin of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. 

Other guests included the children of the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Their Royal Highnesses The Duke of York (prince Andrew second son of Queen Elizabeth), The Princess Royal (Princess Anne daughter of Queen Elizabeth),The Duke of Kent (first cousin of Queen Elizabeth ), Prince Michael of Kent (first cousin of Queen Elizabeth) Princess Michael of Kent, Princess Alexandra of Kent (first cousin of Queen Elizabeth),  Princess Benedikte of Denmark (sister of Queen Margaretha of Denmark), Prince Hassan el Talal of Jordan (brother of the late King Hussein of Jordan), Princess Sarvath el Hassan of Jordan and many more distinguished guests. 

The dinner and wonderful birthday celebrations took place at the Royal Academy of Music; HRH the Duchess of Gloucester is the president of the academy. A spectacular musical performance took place including Mr Thomas Gould violin performing on the Viotti ex-Bruce made by Stradivari in 1709. The Royal Academy of Music Chamber Ensemble perform and many other talented artists.
