Queen Maria’s
death. Her
Majesty, Queen
Maria was mother
of King Peter
II.
Queen Maria was
the wife of His
Majesty King
Alexander I the
Unifier. Queen
Maria was
extremely
popular. The
former Romanian
Princess was a
great
philanthropist,
helping disabled
people, children
without parental
care, building
foster homes for
old people,
hospitals and
schools.
Her Majesty
Queen Maria died
in London 22
June 1961. She
is buried at
Frogmore in
Windsor near the
Mausoleum
where Queen
Victoria and her
husband Prince
Albert are
buried.
