MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR SUPREME LEADER KARADJORDJE AT OPLENAC

Belgrade, 26 July 2006 – The Clergy of Eparchy of Sumadija served today a Holy Liturgy and Memorial service in the Church of Saint George at Oplenac, on the occasion of anniversary of the late Supreme Leader Karadjordje’s death.

HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II was represented by Mr. Miroslav Gasic a member of the Advisory Bodies to The Crown who laid a wreath on the tomb of the Supreme Leader Karadjordje in the Royal Mausoleum Church of Saint George following the ceremony.

The ceremony was organized with highest state honours in the presence of the representatives of the Serbian Government and Armed Forces, the local authorities of City of Topola, presidents of several Sumadija Municipalities, as well as many representatives of monarchist clubs and citizens.

The Mausoleum Church Memorial Service for HM the Late King Peter I, The Liberator will be held on Wednesday, 16 August 2006 at Oplenac on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of his death.
