THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES AT THE OPENING CEREMONY
OF THE INTERNATIONAL FOLKLORE FESTIVAL

Belgrade, 9th August 2006 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine visited tonight Sremska Mitrovica and attended the opening ceremony of International Festival of Folklore “Srem Folk Fest”.

The Royal couple were hosted by Sremska Mitrovica Municipality President Mr. Zoran Miscevic, who had an informal conversation with HRH Crown Prince before the ceremonial opening of the Festival.

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Princess Katherine extended their congratulations to Mrs Vesna Grabic General Manager of the Festival on the successful organization of the event. On that occasion, the Crown Prince said:

“It is well known that folklore is very important for the preservation of national tradition. The fortune we had an opportunity to see tonight at the archaeological excavation location of Sirmium in Sremska Mitrovica proves that the tradition of our nation and the guests from other countries is fully respected. That is why I am happy to see here tonight guests from Latvia, Hungary, Italy, Slovenia, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria and Croatia”.
