CROWN PRINCE INVITES UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA BERKELEY
PROFESSOR
TO VISIT BELGRADE
Belgrade, 12 August 2006 – During the recent visit of HRH
Crown Prince Alexander II to the United States he also visited the
University of California Berkeley (UC), and the cooperation with this
prestigious American university was initiated.
Upon the invitation of Crown Prince Alexander II the Dean
of the Graduate School of Education of UC Berkeley Professor David Pearson
PhD came to visit Belgrade. Professor Pearson is an eminent scientist in the
area of reading research, reading development, learning and literacy. During
his long experience of teaching in schools, he was into didactical research
and came out with the innovative methodological solutions, which will most
likely impact the practice.
After meeting with His Royal Highness at The Royal
Palace, Prof. Pearson met HE Mr. Slobodan Vuksanovic the Minister of
Education and Sport of Serbia, visited the Rectorate of the University of
Belgrade and met the representatives of the academic community of Serbia.
Thanks to the initiative of Crown Prince Alexander the
contact was made between with a representative of one of the most famous
high educational institution in the United States and representatives of the
academic community of Serbia. Thanks to this a platform for good relations
and future cooperation has been established.
