SAFE DELIVERY PROGRAMME SUPPORTED BY THEIR ROYAL
HIGHNESSES
DELIVERY OF 750.000 EUROS OF MEDICAL EQUIPMENT FOR
NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE IN KRAGUJEVAC, NIS, NOVI SAD AND BELGRADE
Belgrade 4 September 2006 - Thanks to the support of the
National Bank of Greece, Eurobank and many Greek friends and supporters of
Their Royal Highnesses an event in Athens attended by four Greek ministers
resulted in this successful effort.
This is in continuation of the effort of the NICU program
(Neonatal Intensive Care Units) which started in 2005 by the Foundation of
HRH Princess Katherine and Lifeline Humanitarian Organisation in cooperation
with the Serbian NICU directors of the centres of Nis, Novi Sad Kragujevac
and Belgrade and of the doctors of the NICU of the hospitals in Athens.
The aim of this humanitarian endeavour of HRH Crown
Princess Katherine that Lifeline Hellas supported was meet urgent
requirement to upgrade the Neonatal Intensive Care Units in the cities of
Belgrade, Nis, Novi Sad, Kragujevac in Serbia.
Every participant was asked by the Foundation of HRH PK
and Lifeline Hellas to donate 10.000 euros for the dinner for two in order
to fulfil the goal of helping Neonatal Intensive Care Units in Serbia. On
this occasion, four ministers of the Greek Government attended the event in
Athens together with large number of Greek donors.
Further efforts were made by Lifeline Humanitarian
Organization to have events in London, San Francisco and Palm Beach Florida,
where TRH attended in an effort to continue this vital action. Lifeline
Humanitarian Organization with the offices in Athens, London, Chicago and
New York fully supported endeavors of HRH Crown Princess Katherine.
This week’s deliveries of the medical equipments to
hospitals and Clinical Centres in Serbia include: Monday - delivering the
medical equipment to Hospitals and Clinical Centres in Kragujevac and Nis;
Tuesday - Their Royal Highnesses are visiting Novi Sad, where medical
apparatus will be delivered as well; Belgrade - 18 September, when the great
medical delivery will be organized for hospitals and Clinical Centre in
Belgrade.
During their visit to Kragujevac, Their Royal Highnesses
delivered necessary new medical apparatuses that will improve the facilities
of the Neonatal intensive care units and improve medical care to the mothers
and newborn babies. Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine
thanked to the people of good will and the great donors from Greece for
their kindness and great heart during this humanitarian action. After Their
Royal Highnesses arrival to Clinical Centre in Nis, where number of
valuable, modern, new medical apparatus were donated.
Their Royal Highnesses also visited Kraljevo today where
they have met with doctors from Studenica medical centre to donate a
cat-scan along with the equipment for Gynaecology Department of the Centre.
This donation was made possible thanks to Lifeline Humanitarian Organization
Canada in the support of the efforts
During their visit to SOS Kinderdorf (Children Village)
Facilities in Kraljevo, Crown Prince and Princess donated humanitarian help,
food, clothing, bicycles and toys to children that are under protection of
that institution.
