HUMANITARIAN EVENT IN CHICAGO

Chicago, Belgrade 2 October 2006 - Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine attended a successful humanitarian Dinner at the Chicago Athletic Club on Saturday. This wonderful and successful charity event organized by the Chicago office of Lifeline Humanitarian is in continuation of humanitarian endeavours of Their Royal Highnesses, who were warmly welcomed by the guests of the dinner.

More than 200 people attended the humanitarian Dinner in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses at the Chicago Athletic Club in aid of medical supplies and equipment for the hospitals of Serbia.

Mr Desko Nikitovic Consul General of Serbia in Chicago introduced Their Royal Highnesses with warm welcoming words, calling HRH Crown Princess Katherine - the Princess of Compassion, after which she greeted the guests:

"I am very happy and thankful to all of you, lovely people who came here tonight to support the humanitarian efforts of Lifeline", said HRH Crown Princess Katherine addressing the guests. "The people and children of Serbia are continuing facing lack of basic medical supplies and unfortunately there is also a tremendous shortage of medical equipment. Your help and generosity would be highly appreciated by the people of my country. We came to this world to give. Life is a mission of giving hope. Through the work of Lifeline we are building bridges of hope for those in need", said Her Royal Highness to the friends and supporters who came last night to the Chicago Athletic Club.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II also addressed the guests of the humanitarian Dinner and thanked them for their noble gesture:

"As a person who used to live in Chicago, I have to say that this is a very emotional evening for me. It is a pleasure to see old and new friends here this evening who have come and to join us in helping the people and children of Serbia. I also know that there are a lot of people who could not be here with us tonight, but are willing to support our humanitarian endeavours and I thank them for that. Chicago and Belgrade are sister cities and can help each other. Our Diaspora is a bridge that connects our two cities and our two countries. Together we can help in building better and stronger bridges. Thank you for your great work", said HRH Crown Prince Alexander II in his speech.

Their Royal Highnesses are continuing their visit to the United States of America with a trip to Merrillville, Indiana.
