CROWN COUNCIL MEMBER ARCHITECT BRANKO PESIC PASSED AWAY
Belgrade 4 October 2006 - His Royal Highness Crown Prince
Alexander II received with much sadness news about death of Crown Council
member Professor Branko Pesic architect and Proto-Master of the Saint Sava
Cathedral in Belgrade, who died in Italy last night.
"Serbia has lost one of its finest architects who left
behind more than 130 master pieces and projects that stand in many of our
cities and world cities. The Crown has lost a good and loyal friend and
outstanding expert. It is hard to describe in words the sorrow after
professor Pesic passed away", emphasised HRH Crown Prince Alexander II in
his letter of condolences to the family of the Crown Council Member.
Professor Pesic was born in Zemun 1921. He was the author
of the great number of architectural projects, churches, public and
administrative buildings such as Beogradjanka and Agrooprema. He was a
lecturer at the University of Belgrade. He also published a number of
architectural books. -
